Your child has homework every night. There is a misconception that if there is not a worksheet, then there is no homework.... NOT TRUE. He/she needs to read 20 minutes and log the books or chapters on the Summit Reading Web sheet. He/she also needs to practice the assigned rocket math facts every night. Each minute practiced gets logged on the Math Minute sheet. When the sheets are completed, please send them in so your child can get credit for them. There are new copies in the classroom for your child to bring home. A new component to the homework is on the computer. Your child needs to log in to www.sumdog.com and play the math games. The program adjusts for your child's abilities, so don't let your child quit after the first game. We have a chance to win prizes for our school and for your child if we can be competitive with this program. When your child complete's the nightly homework, please sign the agenda. This tells me that you know your child did the assigned homework. We need to continue to communicate in order for our children to be successful this year. If you could not get to the homework, please send me a note and then make up the work another time.

Do they just create their own account at sumdog or is there a special way to link it to the school?

Each child has his/her own Sumdog account already created for him/her. We glued our account information in the front of our agenda's. All the children have to do is play the games!
