The name "Teach to be Happy" is two-fold...
I teach because I enjoy it. Even with the crazy things that can happen when you are a teacher, it makes me happy. Therefore, I teach to be happy. I also believe that it is important for our children to be happy, so I teach {them} to be happy.
A "portrait" of me...
My name is Mrs. Marianne Patterson. I have been married to my wonderful husband Jim (photo left) for 13 years. We have 2 fabulous and fun boys (Xavier, 7 and Owen, 5). We live in Reynoldsburg and are very close to our friends and family.
I have just finished my 14th year as a teacher, 13 of which have been in Reynoldsburg City Schools. I taught 5th graders my first year in Mantua, Ohio. Since then, I have taught 7 years of 4th grade and 3 years of 2nd grade at Graham Road Elementary. When our building closed, I transferred to Slate Ridge and taught another year of 4th grade. I am now in my 5th year of grade 2 at Summit!
Working in the STEM program has been amazing and I am so excited to continue teaching, learning, and growing at Summit Stem Elementary!
