Please let me know if things are not working properly. It has been very helpful to get feedback so I can fix any problems! Thank you to everyone that has sent me messages about the different links/attachments that had issues.
I updated the Kids Corner with more tools, games, and activities :)

Don't forget that picture day is tomorrow! I have been collecting all envelopes and internet orders from the students. I don't know when we will be photographed, so please make sure your child is camera ready when they come in. There will be no changing of clothes for the pictures. Thanks!
Today you should get the parent letter about homework from our Investigations book. If not, you can find it on the Math Foundations page. Tonight is the first page of homework. It is page 10, but we accidentally wrote page 12 in our agendas. Besides that, make sure that your child is reading for 20 minutes and tracking each book/chapter he/she reads on the Reading Web Log. If you need a new sheet and one has not come home, you can print one from the Daily 5 Foundations page. For Rocket Math Fact practice, please have your child only practice the facts given to them. This is a data-tested way to teach math facts. There is a progression and your child needs to go through the proper steps. Please do not teach your child multiplication until all addition and subtraction facts are automatic. If your child is hesitating with facts or is counting on his/her fingers, then he/she is not automatic. Please refer to the Rocket Math letter sent home last week.
So to recap: Tonight's homework is Math pg. 10, Read 20 minutes, and practice Rocket Math Facts. Today in Fusion, we watched a video online that is called "Kid's Recycling Video" and the students really enjoyed it. By the end of the video, they were singing along!
If you haven't checked it out yet, I have added lots of things in the Kids Corner. I may be rearranging it into separate pages so that it doesn't get too big there. I also added more photos and am trying out separating it too. I hope you are enjoying this! This kids sure did when we looked at all the photos today.
Research & Development is on MONDAYS but the students may turn their book in at any time during the week. There may be times when they will be able to get new books throughout the week, but ALL BOOKS need to be back on MONDAY.
We had a fabulous time today. Our students were very knowledgeable and very curious. I was very proud of the behavior! I have already posted the pictures that I took. I also added a video and a quick blurb on the Fusion page. Please ask your child about today, what they learned, what they saw, what they thought, how they felt, etc. Help them post a comment on this blog about their day! I would love to see it all!
Please remember that our class field trip to the SWACO Landfill is on Wednesday. Any children without permission slips will not be permitted to go. Your child needs to dress comfortably and wear tennis shoes. Please be sure to pack a lunch for your child. Our group will be eating lunch at 10:45 and leaving around 11:15. Our tour is at 12:00. We should be back in time for our afternoon learning link.
Summit PTO is having various fundraisers right now. Don't forget to order your spirit wear, make Market Day purchases, and go to Culver's tomorrow night!
Here is the letter I will send home tomorrow attached to some Rocket Math papers your child has completed. Please read the letter carefully so that the program stays consistent between home and school!
Here is the same graph we will be using in the classroom. You can use it to track your child's progress at home!
